Symbiosis

This 30” x 48” painting was created with oils on canvas, as well as multiple mini-canvases. This is a one-of-a-kind piece. Due to the three-dimensional aspect of the painting, prints will not be made.

This painting reflects not only the symbiotic relationship between humanity and nature, but also our similarity. Tress, like humans, share communities, communicate among one another through their fungal root network, breathe in and out as we do, and strive for survival like every other species. We are more similar than different, and this piece points to that similarity. In a time when human destruction is at its highest and most devastating, I hope to bring a recognition and compassion about our natural land kin in the hopes we can find a way to live in harmony once more with our fellow planetary inhabitants.
